Aval Oru Kaaviyam

Aval Oru Kaaviyam is a social drama centered on Parvathy Ammal (played by Savitri), a dedicated social worker who runs a trust for the unfortunate. Her son, Sathya (played by JaiGanesh), a principled young man, meets his college friend Geetha (played by Kavitha), a woman who treats relationship with practicality. At his mother's insistence, Sathya marries Vani (played by Sumithra), a woman supported by Parvathy's trust. However, the wedding night turns into a nightmare when Vani reveals a haunting secret: she was a victim of sexual violence in the past.

Devastated and unable to process the shock, Sathya drifts away, seeking solace in Geetha. Meanwhile, Vani, burdened by guilt and not wanting Sathya to suffer for her past, selflessly encourages him to marry Geetha.

Just as Sathya prepares to move on, Parvathy Ammal intervenes with a shattering truth. She reveals that she, too, was a victim of sexual violence in her youth. She had orchestrated Sathya's marriage to Vani specifically to protect her from the same lifelong stigma and isolation she had endured. Moved by this truth, Geetha rejects Sathya to ensure he stays with his wife. In her final moments, a dying Parvathy extracts a promise from Sathya to reconcile with Vani. The film ends on a redemptive note as Sathya honors his mother's final wish, finally accepting Vani and their shared future.
